Born on March 3, 1999, in Lodi, California, Justin began wrestling in elementary school and later added football before discovering CrossFit at just 12 years old, initially as a way to stay fit between sports seasons.

In his first Games appearance in 2020 he earned Rookie of the Year with a 3rd-place finish.
